The one-time "Lord of the Rings" heartthrob returned to the center of female fantasies earlier this month when full frontal shots of him, frolicking on an Italian beach with girlfriend Perry, surfaced online. The photos also launched thousands of internet memes and plenty of jokes for late-night show hosts.
It turns out that Bloom, 39, had no idea that his display of his manhood would become such a world sensation. According to his ex-wife Miranda Kerr, Bloom wasn't doing that attention-seeking thing favored by celebrities -- tip off the paparazzi to snap them engaged in activities that make them look glamorous or interesting or that sends a message to a rival.
During an interview on Australian radio, Kerr, who was married to Bloom from 2010 to 2013, revealed that her ex gave her a heads up about the photos.
"Oh, my God "o he texted me and he was like, 'Um, I'm really embarrassed. Some photos are coming out. Just thought I should let you know,'" the Victoria's Secret model said.
Kerr said she took Bloom to task a bit for getting caught in such a compromising situation. The ex-spouses have a young son together. "I was like, 'Hmm ... right, what were you thinking? Seriously, what were you thinking?'" she said of her response.
But then Kerr, who is now engaged to Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel, jokingly added that she would send Bloom one of her new swimsuits for future outings.
