An Italian teenager has been found dead in her London flat after her mum raised the alarm when friends and family hadn't heard from her in days.
Benedetta Podeseta had moved to the UK last year and was working in a bar on Tottenham Court Road while studying.
She was found lifeless in her bedroom having complained of a 'fever and headache' in the days before she was last seen.
The 18-year-old was originally from the port city of Genoa and her heartbroken family say they have been 'destroyed' by her death.
Her father Claudio told local media: "Surviving your children is a chilling thing that should never happen. Bibi was a wonderful girl, full of life."
Friend Massimiliano D'urso wrote on Facebook: "I still do not believe it. Rest in peace little angel."
Genoa's deputy prosecutor Federico Manotti has opened a file over her death but the post-mortem examination and inquest will be carried out in Britain.
Police are not treating her death as suspicious.
She is the second Italian student be discovered dead in the English capital in as many weeks.
Francesca Bezuayehu Bisco, 24, was discovered by her unnamed roommate at their flat in Dalston, north-east London.
She had come to London from the Italian town of Adria in the Veneto region of northern Italy to study computer science and learn English.
Francesca had been in London for around 18 months and had worked part-time in a fast-food restaurant to finance her studies.
