Anthea Turner's ex is being paid a reported £100,000 to star in the reality show and insists he and partner Zoe split amicably

He is getting £100,000 to go into the Celebrity Big Brother house on Thursday night.

And Anthea Turner’s ex Grant Bovey has angrily denied he dumped his girlfriend of three years so he can be a singleton in the show.

But after reports Grant and Zoe De Mallet Morgan had parted company after three years because he wanted to increase his chances of winning the Channel 5 show, the businessman has hit back.

Grant’s agent said: “Grant and Zoe did not split because of any TV show. They split amicably a few weeks ago because they both realised they wanted different things for the future.”

Grant reportedly cheated on wife Andrea with Zoe, who is 20 years his junior.

The property magnate and film producer, who was declared bankrupt in 2010 after he racked up debts of £50million, has jumped at the chance to enter the house.

A friend added: “Grant sees this as an ideal opportunity to increase his profile and put right a few wrongs in the public’s perception about him.”

Anthea recently admitted how she was left devastated after they divorced in 2013.

“You have to dust yourself down and get out there. I think it takes you a couple of years to reground yourself in this life and then I think you’re in a much better place to let someone in.

“I’ll protect my heart - but if you protect it too much you’re never going to get in to another relationship because you’ll always be defensive.’

She added: ‘Although it’s been horrible I’m glad I’ve been through some of the things I’ve been through. I’m ten times stronger as a human being because I’ve learned to be on my own.’

Grant will be reportedly joined by celebs including Sam Fox, Marnie Simpson, Lewis Bloor, Stephen Bear, Katie Waissel, Christopher Biggins, Beth Chapman and Helen Lederer

Emma Willis will oversee proceedings with Rylan Clark-Neal hosting the Bit On The Side spin-off.

Other stars rumoured to be taking part include Colin Newell, James Whale, Saira Khan and Ricky Norwood.
